Aamir Khan starrer ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ much awaited and talked about film released last Friday. And since then, the storm of criticism has started around the movie.

Aamir Khan starrer ‘Lal Singh Chadda’ is the official remake of Tom Hanks starrer ‘Forrest Gump’.

In 1994, ‘Forrest Gump’ was nominated in 13 categories at the Oscars. At the time, the film won the Best Actor, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture awards.

Though a remake of Hollywood Forest Gum, Aamir’s film is made in the context of India. The film follows the story of the Babri Masjid demolition in 1892, the rise of Narendra Modi from the Chief Minister of Gujarat to the Prime Minister of the country.

Indian Hindutva organizations and a section of netizens boycotted the film. Meanwhile, several Bollywood stars including writer Taslima Nasreen praised Aamir after watching the film.

The Oscar authorities filled the basket of praise more. They congratulated Aamir by uploading a video on the Academy Awards’ social media page.

In the uploaded video, the collage features Hollywood actor Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump and Aamir Khan starrer Lal Singh Chadha. Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is emotional after receiving this greeting from Oscar.
